Cuba Futuro is a young (Dec. 2003) European foundation based in Holland. Its objective is to defend human rights in Cuba and promote democratic civic movements on the island.
It is an initiative of the same people who, in 1991, launched the Cuban Human Rights Project at the international peace movement Pax Christi Netherlands.
The Christian Movement for Liberation, which later became the Varela Project, has been the main counterpart in Cuba since that time.
Cuba Futuro intends to follow the same lines: to continue to promote - together with other organizations and Cuban residents throughout Europe - awareness in Europe about the Cuban drama and mobilize concrete solidarity with the oppressed and silenced people of Cuba.
